Our Mission

To empower patients in our community to become more civically engaged and voice their concerns to ensure the government is representative of their needs.

The Story

ACTION came to be when we realized the documents needed for your doctor’s appointment are identical to those needed for online voter registration—state license and social security number.

Outpatient clinics create the perfect space for voter registration as patients have necessary documents and the time to engage with our volunteers. It just makes sense!

 How is this possible?

We are supported by the David E. Rogers Fellowship under the New York Academy of Medicine.

Our team is made up of over 50 medical students at Loyola Stritch and neighboring schools, donating their time to the Maywood community!

Note: Each volunteer has been trained on online voter registration and mail-in ballot application through the League of Women’s Voters.

ACTION steps:

01

If you are a healthcare provider ask your patients if they are registered to vote

02

Research your state laws about online and same day voter registration

03

Advocate for your patients to vote through mail-in ballot to avoid the spread of COVID-19
